We all know, at least in theory, that exercise is good for us. The trick, of course, is actually getting it done. AARP has teamed up with the International Council on Active Aging (ICAA) to offer a wide variety of physical activities with the aim of introducing seniors to the idea it’s fairly easy and often fun to get active.

Part of the program includes listing age-friendly fitness facilities – a big consideration since most of us prefer not to exercise around a bunch of young, hard bodies.

Start with ICAA’s Active Aging Week page. Here, under Consumer Resources, you’ll find a description of the program and links to facilities, plus good information on what to look for in a gym, in a trainer and how to start a walking program.
