Founded in 1982 by Marylen Mann and Margie Wolcott May, Oasis is a not-for-profit whose mission is, in part, “…to enhance the quality of life for mature adults. Offering challenging programs in the arts, humanities, wellness, technology and volunteer service…”
Located in 26 cities across the U.S., Oasis offers class in everything from discussion groups, through classes about health to exercises classes. They also offer volunteer opportunities like tutoring in reading, writing and other subjects. Volunteering to tutor takes only about an hour a week and can be most satisfying.
