Older adults often report they have trouble going to sleep at night and that they have trouble staying asleep. But, contrary to a common myth, seniors need as much sleep as younger people, according to an article called Sleep and Aging: The Facts about Seniors and Sleep at About.com’s Senior Living site.
That means we should be getting between seven and nine hours of sleep each night. It isn’t always easy! Sharon O'Brien, About.com’s Guide to Senior Living also has an article called Sleep Well: How to Get a Good Night's Sleep that has lots of good tips for sleeping well.
