We all know in a general way that if we save energy we save money. The problem is figuring out just how to go about saving energy. The U.S. Department of Energy has put together a website designed to help you do just that. Called the Home Energy Saver, the site let’s you put in your zip code, and then enter information about your home. The site will then calculate your current energy use and make specific suggestions about what you can do to reduce the energy you use. It also gives rough estimates of how much money you’ll save.
The Home Energy Saver site also has lots of other information, including faqs to help you determine how much energy specific appliances use, low and no-cost energy savings tips, and tips for renters.
